The former Chelsea gaffer and his current employers, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) have made no secret, their intentions to lure the enterprising forward to the fold of the three-time World Cup campaigners.

Footy-Ghana.com recently established that Grant has since April this year had phone conversations with the 21-year-old over accepting to play for Ghana and processing his documents at Fifa.

And the coach has subtly suggested that there is a need to clarify his family background in order to make headway.

“About Inaki Williams, I don’t know if he is Ghanaian,” Grant jested.

“We are checking. We found out that his father is Ghanaian and his mother is from Liberia and he is Spanish; so we are finding the solution with him. And the positive is that he is a good player…,” the Black Stars coach said in an interview with Metro TV.

Inaki who has six goals to his account so far this season for Bilbao currently features for the Spanish Under-21 national team.
