Burkinabe Import: Issa Gouo trains with Hearts

Defender Issa Gouo has begun training with Hearts of Oak as a free agent after leaving Guinean giants AS Kaloum in July.

The Burkinabe international joined new coach Kenichi Yatsuashi’s squad in training on Monday in a bid to prove himself worthy of a deal from the Phobians.

Gouo, 26, signed for Kaloum in November 2014 and went on to feature for the side in the about to end 2015 Caf Champions League.

“I’m here in Ghana looking for a club after terminating my contract in Guinea with AS Kaloum. I’m here to look for a club which can provide me a playing time.

“Yes, I got the chance to train with Hearts today (Monday) but there have not been any talks. I’m open to a move in this country,” Gouo said.

He is a full international having featured in all group games for Burkina during the 2014 CHAN tournament in South Africa.

The former ASFA Yenega and Santos FC left-back was also a member of the Stallions squad at the 2015 Afcon. He started in two matches (played 149 minutes) but has since been sparingly invited for national duties due to his lack of games at club level.

Burkina head coach Gernot Rohr last handed him an invitation for an international friendly with Morocco in March this year.
